Meenar, meaning “tower,” is a display typeface that beautifully bridges the ancient Devanagari script with the bold geometric lines of the 1920s Art Deco movement. Each letterform has been meticulously crafted, achieving a harmonious balance of positive and negative spaces that reflects the elegance of Art Deco’s structured precision while maintaining the organic fluidity inherent in Devanagari.

The journey of Meenar began with a tactile experiment: two pencils joined side by side with rubber bands, exploring proportions and repetition. This hands-on approach allowed for a creative exploration that first emerged on paper and evolved through multiple iterations before being digitized in Glyphs.
